Workout of the Week: BodyCombat

Yesterday, my mom, sister, and I had a gym date and caught a BodyCombat class. It’s my Mom’s favorite class, so I figured it would be fun for us to go and get our sweat on! Wow, I forgot how exhausting yet fun it is…

BodyCombat is a high energy martial arts inspired workout. It’s the Les Mills version of a kickboxing class. Designed to burn lots of calories while targeting every muscle group with kicks, punches, blocks, and strikes, this workout gets you fit fast!

Last summer I took Combat quite a few times, but my consistency with it slipped through the cracks. Yesterday was the first time I’ve been to the class in months!

I must admit, it does take some coordination and getting used to (especially if you are new or haven’t shown up in a while). I probably looked like some weird kid having a spaz attack. But, as with anything, it gets easier the more consistent you become!

It’s a great workout and talk about a stress reliever! You’ll kick and punch your way through all of your troublesย in life. All you gotta do is imagine that your enemy is right in front of you ๐Ÿ™‚

I highly recommend you check it out if your gym offers it. BodyCombat is a fun and efficient way to get an amazing sweat sesh in! I’ll be feeling my arms, shoulders, and legs tomorrow for sure!!

And MOST IMPORTANTLY…always refuel with a healthy snack. Quinoa, black beans, and avocado make a pretty amazing combo! ๐Ÿ™‚
