Workout of the Week: BodyCombat

Yesterday, my mom, sister, and I had a gym date and caught a BodyCombat class. It’s my Mom’s favorite class, so I figured it would be fun for us to go and get our sweat on! Wow, I forgot how exhausting yet fun it is…

BodyCombat is a high energy martial arts inspired workout. It’s the Les Mills version of a kickboxing class. Designed to burn lots of calories while targeting every muscle group with kicks, punches, blocks, and strikes, this workout gets you fit fast!

Last summer I took Combat quite a few times, but my consistency with it slipped through the cracks. Yesterday was the first time I’ve been to the class in months!

I must admit, it does take some coordination and getting used to (especially if you are new or haven’t shown up in a while). I probably looked like some weird kid having a spaz attack. But, as with anything, it gets easier the more consistent you become!

It’s a great workout and talk about a stress reliever! You’ll kick and punch your way through all of your troubles in life. All you gotta do is imagine that your enemy is right in front of you 🙂

I highly recommend you check it out if your gym offers it. BodyCombat is a fun and efficient way to get an amazing sweat sesh in! I’ll be feeling my arms, shoulders, and legs tomorrow for sure!!

And MOST IMPORTANTLY…always refuel with a healthy snack. Quinoa, black beans, and avocado make a pretty amazing combo! 🙂
