I’ve been approached on several different occasions and have been asked many questions regarding fitness. People ask “What’s your secret?” or “What’s the best workout to get in shape?” However, I can’t answer that, and here’s why.
There is no single “magical” workout to get the results you want. Different things work for different people. I could easily tell everyone that the key to getting in shape is running 5 miles a day. But, for many, that’s just not going to work. Not everyone is a runner!
Similarly, a bodybuilder could tell me that the magic ingredient is lifting insane amounts of weight. I’m sorry, but that’s not happening anytime in my foreseeable future. Again, different things work for different people!!!
We must also consider one’s fitness goals. Are you wanting to bulk up? Slim down? Maintain? Different goals are met with different workouts. For instance, someone wanting to bulk up probably shouldn’t run as much, since running tends to lean you out.
So although I can’t provide anyone with a “magic” workout, I can say this: Consistency is Key.
No matter the workout routine or diet plan, you must stay consistent. Fitness is a full time commitment, not just a “21 Day Fix.” Grab onto that workout plan and never let it go!
Results will notΒ come right away. Anything worth waiting for takes time. Stick with it, resist the urge to quit when it gets tough. Trust me, your body will thank you!
And with time, your exercise routine will become natural. Working out and eating healthy will quickly become a habit. All you have to do is stay consistent!Β The initial habit forming part is always the hardest.
I know, easier said than done. But if it were easy, everyone would do it. You have to want it!! Take that first step, I’ll be here cheering you on π
How about you?
- Do you have any tips for staying consistent?
- What are your fitness goals? (Slim down, bulk up, maintain?)
- What’s happening in your world this weekend?
Verrryy nicely said. Honestly my favorite word to tell people is “routine” it’s the same as consistency, but honestly, that’s how you make a healthy lifestyle, you don’t want a fad or a diet. Gotta make it part of your life everyday π
My tip for staying consistent is make it a habit. Have a trigger that will make you do it everyday. The trigger should be something you do everyday. My trigger is waking up. I do it everyday, and when I do I know it’s time to go for a run. Doesn’t have to be in the mornings, for others it could be after work, school..etc.
Have a great weekend.! π
