This post is purely 100% about family (Okay, 99% family, 1% food because what’s a post without food 🙂 ) Today I’m going to talk all about the most important people in my life, the people that I love more than anything in this world! My usual health and fitness topics will resume tomorrow, don’t you worry 😉

So, my parents’ 20th wedding anniversary is on Wednesday. Since it’s their 20th, I wanted to do something different than the usual card and gift. I decided to throw them a surprise party!
I got our relatives and close family friends in on it, ordered some good food, and planned the whole thing without them finding out! Finally, yesterday, it was go time!
I asked them if they could take me to go run a couple of errands. Thankfully, they both agreed, so we headed to the running store. It was pretty convenient, because I was actually in need of some new running shoes. (Notice how I got something out of this too? 😉 )
Then, since we had extra time, I asked to go to Trader Joe’s. If you know me well, you know I can stall the heck out of that store (same with Whole Foods). I swear I think I stopped and looked at everything in the entire store yesterday.
In the meantime, my sister (who stayed home) and grandma cleaned up at the house and got everything set up. When we left Trader Joe’s, I texted them and everyone hid in the front room.
When we got home, they were very confused at first. They were wondering where all of the food came from! Then, everyone came out and surprised them. It was awesome 🙂
They had a great time. We pulled out the wedding and honeymoon albums and had fun looking through them 🙂 It was so cool hearing stories about their wedding!
There was also a TON of food. Rosati’s took good care of us.
My dinner was provided by Trader Joe’s. Roasted squash, quinoa, and wheatberry salad topped with salmon. Yum!!
My grandma got them a cake, too. Despite a mini fiasco (the store put 25th anniversary instead of 20th), it turned out perfect 🙂
I’m absolutely thrilled with how great it all worked out. And they didn’t even suspect a thing! I sure hope I helped make their anniversary extra special. They deserve it 🙂
Have a fantastic rest of your weekend. Talk to you all tomorrow 🙂

Aww, what fun! It’s so great to pull off a party without being “caught”. And Trader Joe’s–same here. I love wandering around looking at everything!

Aww, that is so sweet! What a good son you are!! I love TJs too, but mine is pretty far away, so I don’t get there very often.
