The closer it gets to June 4, the more prone I am to procrastination. Sure, I get all of my work turned in on time, but I keep pushing it off instead of just getting it done!
It would make my life much easier if I didn’t procrastinate. There are just so many distractions I have to fight against! (aka Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, you get the point). #21stcenturyprobs
I’ve been researching tips for being more productive (rather than actually doing my work. Lol @ me.) and here are some of the best that I’ve found.
1. Write everything down.
I have a little agenda that I write all of my work in. It helps me stay organized with everything I have to complete. I draw little check boxes next to each assignment so I can get the satisfaction of checking things off my to do list. 🙂
2. Do a little bit every day.
I should start trying this. Several little tasks appear much better than one huge and time consuming task, so I’ll be more willing to do them. Instead of saving big projects for one weekend, I should do a little bit each day to lighten the work load!
3. Put the phone far far away.
Out of sight, out of mind. I need to work on this. A buzzing phone gets to be verrryyyyy distracting.
4. Take Breaks.
If I allow myself to look at my phone every 20 minutes or so, a task won’t seem as dreadful and boring!
5. Reward yourself!
Give yourself something to work for! Hint: Starbucks is always a great reward for hard work 😉
I have a research paper due next Friday. Instead of saving all of the work for the weekend and making my two days off miserable, I’m going to use these tips and get it done! Plus, then I’ll have an excuse to make a Starbucks run!
Speaking of procrastination, I have been pushing off this form for prom court. They want to know all about my life. If I just wrote “running,” it would pretty much sum up my entire existence. 🙂
My plans to make muffins for tomorrow’s potluck went down the drain. There’s just not enough time in the day, I was really underestimating my busyness. Bagels, lunch meat, and cheese will just have to do 🙂 (Who doesn’t like bagel sandwiches?)
In other fun news, I received my Japan badge on the Fitbit. I’ve officially traveled the entire length of Japan since I’ve started wearing the tracker!
I just got an email about the America’s Finest City Half Marathon in August. I would love to run it again, it was awesome last year! And I would definitely not be opposed to another San Diego trip. Time to start sucking up to the parents 😉
Before I go, I have to give a quick shout out to my mom. She stepped up in life and got an Instagram! She cracks me up with her children appreciation tweets! 🙂 I love you mom!!
Now it’s time to quit putting off my homework!
