Saturday Things

Something very odd happened this morning. I was the last person in my house to wake up. That never happens!

I was beat from yesterday. So, as predicted, my planned 8 mile run did not happen. But, I still got my butt up and ready for 10:30 BodyPump at my second home.

Afterwards, I did this quick ab routine by Hungry Runner Girl :

  • 2 minute plank
  • 1 minute side plank each side
  • 2 minute plank
  • 50 sit ups
  • 25 leg lifts

Post workout fuel is most important. I had a typical meal of Trader Joes Canned Salmon, a baked yam with almond butter, and a spinach salad. (By the way, a yam with almond butter is my favorite food. It tastes delicious and sinful, but is really healthy!)

My legs were still pretty tight from the trip, so I did some active recovery and took a walk through the state park. If only it were a little bit cooler, the weather would be perfect.

After my walk I felt like being a wonderful son and made dinner for the family. I tried spaghetti squash for the first time. It turned out more like mashed potatoes, but it was delicious and healthy! With some turkey meatballs and sauce on the side, it made for a great dinner! And of course, I had to include some form of bread. Tomorrow is my long run after all 😉.
