This morning’s run got me thinking. Lately I’ve become too preoccupied with trying to get faster and better. My runs have become less enjoyable as I have started to lose sight of why I really run: because it’s freaking awesome!
Sometimes, we just need to step back and reevaluate the true reasons we pursue our hobbies. I often fall into the “I have to get better or I am a failure” mindset that I had while doing track and cross country. When this happens, I remind myself that I run because I love it. I don’t do it for the times or records. Although the awards are nice, at the end of the day it’s all about whether or not I enjoyed myself. Continue reading
It’s Sunday so you know what that means…long run!! Long runs are my fave, I look forward to them all week!
Pre-run snack is pure carbs. No matter how many times I’ve tried, me and protein don’t get along while running.
Something very odd happened this morning. I was the last person in my house to wake up. That never happens!
I was beat from yesterday. So, as predicted, my planned 8 mile run did not happen. But, I still got my butt up and ready for 10:30 BodyPump at my second home.
Who needs school? I kicked off spring break the right way: a physics trip to Magic Mountain! School has been so stressful the past few weeks, it was fun to take a little break and leave all of the work behind!
The day started at 4:45am. I made sure to come fully prepared with overnight oats and an almond butter sandwich (not pictured).
Eat. Sleep. Exercise. Repeat.
